Jack Kearns


Jack Kearns brings over 30 years of successful capital campaign experience to the fundraising profession. In addition to serving over 200 Catholic Churches located in 23 Dioceses throughout the United States, he has also guided a broad spectrum of other clients including Catholic Dioceses, High Schools, Religious Communities, Colleges, Hospitals and Human Service Organizations.

Jack has provided capital campaign direction to such diverse organizations as Penn State Catholic Campus Ministry, Trocaire College, The Food Bank of WNY, Erie City Mission, Buffalo Legacy Project, Child Development Centers, Inc., Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk Lighthouse and Museum, Cazenovia Library and Resource Center, Chautauqua Catholic Community, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Felician Franciscan Sisters, Sisters of St. Mary of Namur and Our Lady of Fatima International Shrine.

Jack is also active at St. Bernadette Church in Orchard Park, NY where he served for six years as Co-Chair of the Stewardship Committee and was a member of the Long-Range Financial Planning Committee.


Patrick Martino

Vice President

Patrick Martino began his tenure with John Kearns & Associates, Inc. in 2005 and promoted to Vice-President in 2012. He has directed successful appeals for numerous parishes, hospitals, educational institutions and community organizations across the northeast United States – many of which have been record setting campaigns.

Patrick is a professional who has worked in sales for a Fortune 200 company in North Carolina, provided public relations and marketing support as a Coordinator in Community Development for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL), and served as Sports Editor for a local publication. Specializing in all aspects of capital campaign and increased offertory implementation, Patrick has also tenured as a Media Relations Specialist, Political Speech Writer and Graphic Design Artist. Residing in West Seneca, NY, with his wife and three children, Patrick is a member of Queen of Heaven Parish.

Patrick is a graduate of St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, NY and Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Public Relations.



Bill Hogan

Vice President

Bill has over 35 years of successful fundraising and marketing experience including planning, directing and supervising campaigns for religious, healthcare, and social service organizations.

Prior to joining JKA, he served with Hillside Family of Agencies, one of largest non-profit organizations in New York State, which provides health and human services for disadvantage children, youth and families. As Director of Marketing and Relationship Management he supervised fundraising, major donor relations, marketing and crisis communications initiatives.

Throughout his extensive career, Bill’s award-winning marketing campaigns have resulted in multi-million dollar revenue increases for his clients. As the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Matrx Medical Inc., he supervised a team that became a leading manufacturer of dental and veterinary medical device capital equipment in North America. Later, following an acquisition, he successfully developed a start-up veterinary medical device division directing the sales and marketing teams for the Midmark Corporation of Ohio.

Bill earned his undergraduate (B.A. – Journalism/Mass Communications) and graduate (M.A. - Integrated Marketing) degrees from St. Bonaventure University. He is a graduate of Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School in Buffalo, NY.

Currently, he serves as a member of the National Alumni Association Board of St. Bonaventure University.




Bill Grant, CFRE

Vice President

Bill Grant, II, CFRE served as director of development for the Catholic Diocese of Erie, PA for over 15 years. He was responsible for all phases of development activity for the diocese, including parish and school capital campaigns, the annual diocesan stewardship appeal, parish stewardship and sacrificial giving programs, major gift cultivation and planned giving and endowment.

Bill is a founding member and past president of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). The organization honored him in 2000 as the Outstanding Fundraising Executive of the Year. He earned the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation, which is an internationally recognized professional credential for fundraising executives. The CFRE certification also serves as an impartial, third-party endorsement of one's knowledge and experience against international standards in philanthropy. He has served on numerous other professional boards including a board appointment to the International Catholic Stewardship Council.

Bill's community service includes more than thirty leadership appointments in diverse organizations, including: the Estate Planning Council of Erie, PA; National Committee on Planned Giving; Association of Fundraising Professionals board of directors; Eisenhower College Alumni Association; Retirement Fund for Religious Planning Committee; secretary, Shankar Service Foundation Board of Directors (hospital in India); and religious education teacher, Saint Jude Church, Erie, Pennsylvania.
